The fibre
Two natural fibres, one yarn.
Peru is the home of the alpaca. We make the cloth close to where the fibre comes from.
- Baby alpaca60% of the blend. One of the finest grades of alpaca fibre, in natural shades from ivory to deep brown.
- Pima cotton40% of the blend. One of the finest long-staple cottons grown anywhere, knitted into the tube that holds the alpaca.
The yarn
Baby alpaca, blown into Pima cotton.
Our signature is a blown yarn. Baby alpaca is air-blown into a fine knitted tube of Pima cotton, so the yarn is 100% natural fibre, with no nylon at its core. The air held between the fibres gives the cloth volume and warmth, and keeps it light in the hand.
